was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and studied with Karl Marr and K. Corman in
Munich. He exhibited Paris Salon,
1898 and 1899, AIC 1898 through 1901, and PAFFA 1899 through 1901. One of his finest examples. |

figures in the style of Persian Empire, also with tin wash, 11.5” diameter;

diameter; plus copper bowl with Persian Islamic style engraving, including

stream with cattle. Signed,
"J. Fussell," lower left. Fussell was born in Birmingham, England. Fussell attended the Royal Academy in
London, and worked as an artist for the Illustrated London News. He exhibited in London and taught at
the Notingham Art School until 1903. He spent the last nine years of his life in San Diego, California
producing some artwork and teaching at the Raja Yoga College. |

Alfred De Breanski Sr. (United
Kingdom, 1852-1928) 20" x 30" oil on canvas of mountain landscape
with rushing river. Signed,
"Alfred De Breanski," lower left. Original Royal Society of British
Artists partial label on verso of frame. Well known landscape painter of Welsh and Scottish scenes. His style was realistic and
detailed. he was married to Annie
Roberts, and artist in her own right. They had seven children including two sons, Gustave and Alfred, who
also became known for their landscape paintings. De Breanski exhibited at the Royal
Academy in London in 1869, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute
of Oil Painters, and several galleries. His work is widely collected, and is in several museum collections. |
