183 Original 1909 Pittsburgh Pirates Photograph Original 1909 Pittsburgh Pirates Photograph Rare 11 1/2" x 13 1/2" photograph of the 1909 Pittsburgh Pirates dressed in street clothes in front of the H.J. Heinz Co. in Pittsburgh on June 3, 1909. The back has the information in period writing. Players in the photo include Bill Powell,  Ham Hyatt, Deacon Phillipe, H. Camnitz, Fred Clarke, Bill Abstein, Bobby Byrne, Chief Wilson, Babe Adams, Jap Barneau, Chick Brandom, Mike Simon, Sutton, Paddy O'Connor, Nick maddox, Vic Willis, Samuel Leever, Dots Miller, Lefty Liefield. The back states that Honus Wagner, George Gibson & Tommy Leach was not present. THE 1909 Pirates went on to become World Champions. Actual photo is 7 1/2" x 9 1/2". Frame is 16" x 18" 500 1000 Excellent Condition.

Tesi Rare original bronze plated figural statue depicting a 1910 era pitcher.  The statue is signed by artist "P.Testi, New York" with a foundry impression dating by P. Mori 1910, New York".  The 9 1/2" figure retains a very fine original patina with excellent detail and features.  The offered period statue is one of the more sought after of its type from the early 1900's and is not to be confused with the modern era bronze reproductions of a similar form. There are auction records of examples selling in the $3000-$4000 range.  500 1000 Excellent Condition

189 Great 1871 Large Folk Art Presentation Bat Great 1871 Large Folk Art Presentation Bat An amazing 54" wooden bat presented to J. Whipple Captain of The Erie Baseball Club in 1871. The bat is handpainted black, red, white and blue and trimmed with gold rings.  The white portion of the bat has a wonderfully detailed gold banner with two bats and ball in center and hat and horseshoe at each end that is trimmed in red and blue. J. Whipple of Erie B.B. Club is written in black in the center of the banner and "1871" below that. There was an Erie Baseball Club that started in Buffalo in 1858 and several Erie, Pa. clubs in the early 1870's. A rare chance to purchase a great presentation folk art bat from the very early days of baseball that is deserving of more research. Found at estate auction a few years ago.
