He settled permanently in Madison, where he specialized in dense forests, especially beech trees. He studied in Cincinnati, New York and Philadelphia. Snyder fought in the Civil War and survived the infamous Andersonville prison-of-war camp. Well listed artist. Very small patch to upper left corner, touched on a few branches.
