117 SAUL TEPPER (NEW YORK, NY) OIL PAINTING Saul Tepper (New York, New York, 1899-1987) 36" x 24" oil on canvas of Abraham Lincoln shinning shoes.  Signed lower right "Saul Tepper".  Saul Tepper was a native New Yorker.  In 1926, he studied at Grand Central Art School under illustration artist Harvey Dunn.  At the height of his career, he produced illustrations for most of the major magazines including Saturday Evening Post and did advertising art for major companies including Coca-Cola.  Tepper was elected to the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame in 1980.  Well listed artist.  Two 1 1/2" tears, few minor scratches and some staining to edge of canvas only, otherwise good condition.   EST. $500. - $1000.  SOLD $2,860

125 THOMAS CAMPBELL (TENNESSEE) OIL PAINTING Thomas Campbell (Tennessee, 1834-1914) 6" x 12" oil on board landscape painting with cattle.  Signed lower right "T. Campbell".  A fine early 20th Century Tennessee landscape painting.  Thomas Campbell was born in England and came to the United States in about 1853.  He traveled the U.S. and served as a missionary to the Indians.  He went to Tennessee in 1893.  In 1902, he founded the art department at Marysville College and was its head until his death.  In Tennessee, he painted mostly landscapes, as did his adopted daughter, Elizabeth Quist.  Listed artist.  Her work is to be sold next lot #126.  Fine condition.  EST. $200. - $500.  SOLD $715
